End of works for restoring the cellars,
and buying new plots located on the
high ground in Pellebouc.
Our red and white wine once again won medals.
The selection of distributors in other countries has begun and the market keeps a close eye on them, given the quality results obtained. Château Pellebouc 2007 was given 100% for new barrels.
Vintages started later, from mid-October.
Very mature, aromatic grapes with a good flavour.
Low yield due to the frost on 6 and 7 April when temperatures dropped to -6°C. Floral notes began in mid-May to the end of July, watered by the rain.
Luckily the post-season was very good and produced very high levels of sugar and low acidity.
Market recognition for the 2006 products when a Médaille d'Or (Gold Medal) was awarded in Paris for the red wine and a Médaille d'Argent (Silver Medal) for the white wine.
Planting out an additional 5 Ha of merlot and 2 Ha of semillon gris.
Marketing of the 2006 harvest began and market interest in the Bordeaux materialised.
Restoration of the cellars and the park.
On 1st September the marriage between Ludovic Thienpont à Pellebouc, son of Baudouin and Pascale and Mademoiselle Emilie Mairiaux would take place.
The Vignobles Pellebouc were taken over by Baudouin Thienpont with immediate restoration of the existing old vines involving severe pruning and restoration of the health of the vines. Nature quickly took over, the wood reformed, the quantity produced was restricted and quality was confirmed by excellent tastings.
7 Ha of vines were pulled out and 5 Ha of merlot was replanted. The choice of clones was carefully made after a thorough survey of the soil.
Restoration of the Château.
